UTCC Confirmed: A 911 GT3 RS, but if it was built by Subaru

If Subaru built its own version of the 911 GT3 RS, what would it look like? According to Graham Gaylord, it’s this Impreza WRX STI.

“It’s been fully built from a street car into a highly competitive time attack [car] while still maintaining a very clean appearance,” he says. “It’s my vision of a Subaru GT3 RS.”

Under the hood is a de-stroked, 650-horsepower flat-four fed by a Garrett G35-1050 turbo, mated to a sequential gearbox and managed by a standalone ECU.

Likewise, the wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone RE-71RZ tires and there’s a set of GT3-spec KW coil-overs from Racecomp Engineering under the fenders.

On October 22, this Subaru “GT3 RS” competes against some of the fastest cars in the country in our Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports for the title of Ultimate Track Car.

Our annual search for the fastest track machine on four wheels, this year set at Eagles Canyon Raceway, welcomes virtually anything so long as both car and driver pass a safety inspection.

If that’s something you can meet, enter today.
