Getting hand-me-down clothes when you were a kid? Not always the best–but what about getting a hand-me-down race car?
As Troy de la Houssaye explains, his son, Dayton, competed with this car a few years ago, but has since moved to racing a Ford EcoBoost-powered Miata.
“I’m just trying to make the best with my hand-me-down Miata,” he adds.
Powering this hand-me-down, however, is a turbocharged Honda K24 mated to an 8HP transmission. Rounding out the package is an OS Giken differential, enlarged Wilwood brakes and a specially designed Geaux Moto aero package.
Troy’s K-powered Miata joins the fray in our search for the fastest track machine on four wheels, the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports, on October 22 at Eagles Canyon Raceway.
