UTCC Confirmed: Camaro ZL1 1LE pushing out more than 800 horsepower

One of the fastest Camaros money can buy? The ZL1 1LE. Yet its 650-horsepower, supercharged LT4 V8 engine apparently wasn’t enough for Nick Plocienik, whose ZL1 1LE is now capable of more than 800 horsepower.

The Magnuson supercharger certainly played a factor in that bump in power, but helping to get that power to the ground takes a team effort that includes the TracTive suspension, AP brakes, 6XD sequential gearbox and Patience Metal Fab custom aero.

When asked what makes the Camaro the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car, Plocienik replied “Because this car has had a complete makeover and is just a monster with everything. It’s hard to beat a car that sounds like this but drives like a Porsche.”

Will the ZL1 prove to be the winner of our search for the fastest track machine on four wheels, the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports?

We’ll find out on October 22 at Eagles Canyon Raceway, where the Camaro will battle against some of the fastest cars in the country.

If both you and your car can pass a safety inspection, good news: You’re eligible to compete, too, so enter today.

Our Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge will also be sharing the weekend with the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge.
