Red with anger? Green with envy? Neither–this racer just keeps going plaid all over the country.
“This car has been around the United States several times now from coast to almost coast,” Andrew DeKoning says of his Tesla Model S Plaid. “We have put a ton of work into making the car turn with our partners at Mountain Pass Performance.”
That work, of course, includes custom three-way adjustable coil-overs, uprated brakes and some unique electronic wizardry:
“Mountain Pass has also worked magic with a Motec inside the car so that we can pull data, temperatures, etc,” DeKoning explains, adding that the system even offers push to pass.
But is it enough to “push past” the competition? We’ll find out on October 22, when the Model S takes to the sweeping turns of Eagle’s Canyon Raceway for the top prize of our Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports.
